Titanium’s Mentorship in Supplier Diversity A Success! Apply Now for the Next One:
It is National Mentorship Month, and there is no better time to look back at the success of our inaugural mentorship program as well as announce the next one. If you have been following along, you may recall Orange Lab Media being announced as our first mentee for Titanium’s Supplier Mentorship. If not, you may read more about them and the program HERE.
After the six-month mentorship came to a close this past November, we sat down with Orange Lab co-founders, Keel Russell and Patrick Senior, to find out what they thought of the program. The sentiment they kept coming back to was that the Titanium members they met with had provided such valuable insight because they were not employees, but entrepreneurs of their own ventures, and had been through their same pain points. “There was a high level of coaching and expertise that we had not experienced before with other programs,” shared Russell. “The mentors were relatable, approachable, and provided actionable advice from real-life experiences that they went through themselves.”
Russell and Senior also felt the coaching helped them not only with the potential of landing new business, but with the opportunities they already had in progress. “They provided an in-depth analysis of the structure of our pitch and capabilities documents,” added Senior, “that helped us to remove the noise, make it more cohesive and hone our brand perspective.” Russell wrapped up his experience with the program by saying, “we really enjoyed being a part of it because even though we were only a mentee, they made us feel like we were a part of Titanium, in fact, we are already working on partnerships together.”
If you think this sounds like something you want to be a part of (or know someone who would) and you are a black-owned business, please read on to find out how to apply to become Titanium’s next mentee.
Titanium is Accepting Applications Through February 13, 2022
Applications will be accepted through April 1, 2022 from the leader of a black-owned business needing support and expertise on any of Titanium’s disciplines, including marketing, branding, sales, supply chain, digital technology and others. One executive (or executive team) will be selected shortly thereafter to enter the six- month long customized program that will begin on April 1, 2022. The mentee will be carefully paired with various members from our collective of agencies depending on their desired needs, and will participate in one-on-one, hour long sessions each month where they will receive goal-oriented direction and content.
The Fine Print
Applicants must be the owner, CEO or president of the company. The business must be a black-owned and operated business. The company needs to have been in business for at least two years and be fiscally sound. The selected mentee must commit to the required time commitments of the program, and will be responsible for stating goals, scheduling meetings, asking questions and deriving value from the resources provided by Titanium.
We hope that if this is not the right program for you, that you will consider looking into others, or becoming a mentor yourself. We firmly believe mentoring in the DEI community will create lasting culture change.
